All about the Cuyabeno Lodge.

Cuyabeno Lodge operates since 1988. It was created with the purpose of the rainforest travelers should be accommodated in harmonious conditions with the surrounding environment, as well as, attuned to the needs of the modern visitors. Cuyabeno Lodge is the first eco-friendly Lodge in the Cuyabeno National Park.

Key Features

We offer six independent wood cabins with thatched roofs, providing double accommodation with a tiled private bathroom and hot water showers. Additionally, we can offer three superior rooms located in the tower, each with a balcony and a larger private bathroom. From these rooms you have a spectacular view over the forest canopy.

The Lodge facilities include a restaurant, a reading and information room and a bar. Electricity is provided by solar energy. Our naturalist guides are bilingual and the canoe transportation is provided by the Siona Natives. Our restaurant serves international dishes, as well as traditional Ecuadorian specialties, and we can cater for special requirements at no additional cost.

As we are an Eco-Lodge, our installations and activities comply with strict procedures designed to conserve and protect the rain forest and to reduce the potential impact from tourism.

  1. 4 Days / 3 Nights Itinerary

    Day 1 – Morning

    We will canoeing through the fascinating Cuyabeno river until reaching our lodge. This river will carry us to the largest lagoon in the reserve known as Laguna Grande. This is the perfect spot to admire the majesty of the Amazon region.

    Day 1 – Afternoon

    At night after dinner, we will head out to observe caimans. You can spot them with flashlights, reflecting in their eyes like bright orange lights.

    Day 2 – Morning

    We will get up early. This day we will have the marvelous chance to observe a great number of amazing species of birds. This activity is advisable to perform early in the morning. Then we will have breakfast.

    Day 2 – Afternoon

    We will go canoeing through the flooded Igapo forest that consist of swamps and trees covered by abundant epiphytes for observing birds and orchids. At the end of the day, we can enjoy a sunset swim in the lake.

    Day 3 – Morning

    A visit to the Siona village is always interesting. We will see a vegetable garden with explanations from Siona women and preparation of manioc in the firebox.

    Day 3 – Afternoon

    The evening will be a pleasant time for relaxing while enjoying the peacefulness of the jungle.

    Return to Lago Agrio City
