Cotococha Amazon Lodge offers 22 spacious bungalows built using traditional architecture in harmony with the surrounding rainforest. All bungalows are equipped with a private bathroom, a private veranda with reclining chairs or hammocks to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Amazon Region. Social areas are carefully decorated and offer all comfort and coziness for a splendid stay in the Ecuadorian Amazon. To preserve the magic of the Amazon, we use oil lamps to illuminate the cabins. We do not have electricity in order to reduce the impact to our surroundings. However, electric devices can be charged at the reception.

  1. 3 Days / 2 Nights Itinerary

    Day 1 – Afternoon

    Arrival at the Lodge in the afternoon. After the long drive, you will enjoy a special welcome drink. You can relax in our pool or in our beautiful spacious bungalow built in a rustic native design surrounded by gardens full of amazing jungle plants and flowers.

    Day 2 – Morning

    After breakfast, we will depart by canoe upstream for ten minutes, arriving to a small shore where we will begin a fun and thrilling one – hour walk. We will see the different flora and fauna living into the jungle’s secondary forest. After a short hike, we will arrive to a breathtaking waterfall “La Cascada de Latas”. While being here, we can swim in its crystal water or enjoy the surrounding views, which, mixed with the jungle sounds, makes it an unforgettable experience. We will return along the same way to have lunch at the lodge. However, you have the possibility to go back by canoe or by an enjoyable tube ride along the Napo River back to the lodge.

    Day 2 – Afternoon

    After lunch, we will perform a hike through the jungle’s primary forest. During our trail, we will be able to find amazing species of plants with medicinal properties. Our expert native guide will explain us their characteristics and the process how the jungle inhabitants used them in ancient times. We will also observe a great variety of insects, small groups of monkeys weaving around the giant trees.

    Day 3 – Morning

    After breakfast, we will return.

     

  2. 4 Days / 3 Nights Itinerary

    Day 1 – Afternoon

    Arrival at the Lodge in the afternoon. After the long drive, you will enjoy a special welcome drink. You can relax in our pool or in our beautiful spacious bungalow built in a rustic native design surrounded by gardens full of amazing jungle plants and flowers.

    Day 2 – Morning

    After our breakfast, we will start a canoe trip down the imposing Napo River crossing the enchanted Ecuadorian jungle. Soon, we will arrive at Misahualli, considered a natural spa with a sandy beach. We continue our canoe ride until we reach the Arajuno River. Here we will visit the Animal Rescue Center “AmaZOOnico”.

    Day 2 – Afternoon

    Afterwards, we can swim in the refreshing river waters or rest surrounded by the peaceful surroundings. We will head back to our Lodge. Upon arrival, we will make traditional chocolate in the lodge. At night after dinner, we will have some free time to gather around the cozy fireplace or enjoy an exotic cocktail at our bar.

    Day 3 – Morning

    Day 4 – Morning

    After breakfast, we will depart by canoe upstream for ten minutes, arriving to a small shore where we will begin a fun and thrilling one – hour walk. We will see the different flora and fauna living into the jungle’s secondary forest. After a short hike, we will arrive to a breathtaking waterfall “La Cascada de Latas”. While being here, we can swim in its crystal water or enjoy the surrounding views, which, mixed with the jungle sounds, makes it an unforgettable experience. We will return to have lunch at the lodge.

    Day 4 – Afternoon

    In the afternoon, we will be part of an exciting tube ride activity along the Napo River. A specialized guide will be always assisting you. After enjoying this adventure activity, we will visit an indigenous museum.

    Day 5 – Morning

    After breakfast, we must prepare for our drive back to the city. End of program.
